Healthy No-Bake Lactation Cookie Recipe

harbor (1)These lactation cookies are delicious, healthy, and super easy to make. I hardly had time to shower in those first months, let alone bake cookies!

After a few tries, these came out perfect. They are by far my most requested recipe by friends, and now a go-to treat present for the new moms I know too. Enoy!

(I’d also start off eating just one and see what happens. I felt a big milk boost after eating just one, but got a clogged duct after I over indulged one day.)

1 ½ cups dry old fashioned oats
½ cup nut butter (I found traditional peanut butters worked the best. Barney Butter is a good solution too.)
½ cup ground flaxseed
2 TB brewers yeast
¾ cups chocolate chips (I use the mini Energy Life chips that are dairy, soy free)
1/3 cup honey

Stir all ingredients together until thoroughly mixed. Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Once chilled, roll into balls. Store in airtight container for up to 1 week. Makes 20-25 1” balls.

    • Absolutely Ema! I have used chopped walnuts before too. Whatever mix-ins you have and like would be great! It is the oats, brewers yeast and flaxseed that you don’t want to change for the lactation benefit.

    • I honestly felt a difference within the day/24 hours. Soon enough to know that I shouldn’t eat as many as I want (like Day 1) and stick to just 1! Good luck, hope they work for you!

    • Thanks for your question Nastascha. Since smashed banana is a very wet ingredient, it will change the consistency of the recipe and is likely why your balls won’t stick together. If you would like to avoid the chocolate chips, feel free to leave out or substitute dried fruit or nuts.

  1. when you state to just eat one… Does that mean one per day? Or one when you want a “boost”? Since these only last about a week, I didn’t want them to go to waste. I made them today and have them in the fridge. I’m excited to try one in the morning!

  2. Thank you for this recipe, I can’t stop eating these because they are so delicious, it has been 3 days and I have not seen a difference yet in my milk supply as it actually has decreased unfortunately 😞 I am still going to eat these and hope for the best!

  3. These are delicious, thank you! All of my honey was crystallized, so I used agave instead. It worked out great. Now I’m just hoping very much for good results in lactation!
